Point: Free trade
My subject is that free trade is needed for globalization and for the better development of the world.
The claim is that free trade in the past has been useful in developing countries.
Evidence is the growth of countries like India and South Korea. The assumption is that free trade is a big step in the way of globalization, but in the end will be good for everyone.
Counterpoint: Fair trade
The subject of the counterpoint is that free trade is not always good and sometimes we need to rules to bind us.
The claim is that some countries make use of their power to overrule the weaker countries.
The evidence being that countries in Africa and Asia feel they are cheated by some countries who use the free trade to their advantage. Also these countries feel the loss of jobs to places outside the country. The assumptions we take into account are that fair trade means it is always fair which is not necessarily the case.
